Thanks to everyone who listened, advised, brainstormed, supported, blogged, contributed and in every sense co-created our brilliant project! Here’s to a very Happy Christmas 2011 and a collaborative 2012!
PIVOT Dublin, thanks to seed funding from Dublin City Council and time given by fellow PIVOTers, will continue to promote Dublin as a 'design hub' and to explain, demonstrate and celebrate design's positive impact on our lives. A key objective for 2012 will be to engage with and communicate design to the general public. We’re looking forward to our first event planned for 2012 which is an exhibition of PIVOT Dublin work (working on high visibility venue, details to follow). We’re also looking forward to our upcoming pivotdublin.com guest curators including Offset, Radarstation and Promoción Bilbao. Further curators are to be confirmed and if you are interested in curating please apply on the website. Big thanks again to IxDA for kicking off the programme. The winners of the Dublin@Helsinki WDC2012 Everyday Discoveries (‘team 6’ – that’s Steven McNamara, Iseult O’Clery, Donal Adams, Clive Bright and Chris Hingel) are working away to submit their proposal to curators IMU Design on the 31st January with the show scheduled for September. The Bid Book has been sent far and wide and has received a great response….it never fails to impress! A digital copy will be available on the website soon and special thanks to the team who assembled that body of work – Red&Grey Design, Emma Curley Architects, Areaman Productions and Linda King. A few other plans are afoot but in the meantime, Happy Christmas and a Design fuelled New Year.
