Dublin as a city is in the process of transforming itself. The economic boom enabled an accelerated programme of development and regeneration, but since the boom has ended, design and planning have been prioritised as means of continuing the transformation of the city. The challenge to continue our transformation in the current economic environment has so far served to stimulate innovation and partnership.
Our plans for Dublin are based around people and their needs. We know that designing for the future of Dubliners demands a collaborative, open and non-linear approach. It must be reactive not static, participatory not exclusive; and wholeheartedly optimistic about the potential for a better city.
